Facts about uPVC Windows and Ways they are made

In the
window industry, uPVC has become extremely popular and taken precedence. uPVC
windows have gained immense popularity in comparison to wood, iron and aluminum
windows. uPVC is the latest trend in vogue these days.
Some of the benefits of uPVC windows for home includes:
- Tough and durable
- Rot resistant
- Thermal comfort
- Openable Tilt & Turn
- Acoustic Insulation
- Resistant to soil erosion
- High Security
- Recyclable
But what
exactly uPVC is.
uPVC is a
versatile polymer and is based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The flexibility,
equivalent durability and strength are what makes uPVC such a sought-after
material to frame windows. As uPVC is based on PVC, its PVC’s flexibility is
leveraged through a unique formulation to prepare a special uPVC blend for
windows.
Facts about uPVC Windows:
uPVC window
is a versatile polymer created with polyvinyl chloride to create strong and
sturdy uPVC window profiles, which are later fabricated together to form a uPVC
window. The windows are extremely robust, hardly requires any maintenance and
have a long shelf-life. A sturdy manufacturing process is what is behind
creation of these windows:
- The manufacturing process of uPVC windows begins with the preparation of a resin mix where higher levels of Titanium dioxide (TiO2) and lower level of Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) are used to make the uPVC window profiles more durable and stronger as well as resistant to UV rays.
- Lead-based substances are not used in the resin mix to make the windows environmentally-friendly.
- What is required in producing uPVC windows is an NABL accredited large-scale automatic mixing equipment which ensures the mix to be churned the raw materials accurately and scientifically.
- The molten mix is entered into a die after the mix is ready which gives the uPVC window profiles its shape as it gets pulled which are cooled with a water bath. Packaging labels and protective tapes are put into the uPVC profile after they have been cooled sufficiently. Last, but not the least comes the distribution process after they are being cut into standardized shapes.
- Finally, these uPVC window profiles are framed together to form long-lasting uPVC windows.
You must be
wondering about the reason behind the replacement of aluminum windows by their
counterparts. The reason is simple- they were replaced by uPVC windows due to
the materials’ better resistance to weather, UV rays, high durability, and its
versatility. uPVC windows are corrosion proof, dent
proof, waterproof, stain resistant, weatherproof, strong, durability and low
maintenance- all of this makes them superior to others.
